Some love stories begin with fireworks. Ours began at a work event in 2022.
The moment we met, I had a feeling I couldn’t explain. I remember thinking, “I’m going to marry him one day.” We went our separate ways, but fate wasn’t finished with us.
That December, we met again at a Christmas party through mutual friends. Everyone kept saying how good we looked together and insisted we should finally go on a date. So we did.
That weekend became the beginning of everything.
We went to ugly Christmas sweater parties, escaped to the Mondrian in South Beach, and spent hours talking—sometimes until 3 a.m. on the beach. Somewhere between those conversations and those quiet moments, we fell in love. There was just one question we couldn’t stop thinking about: Would we ever see each other again? At the time, Mateo was living in New York City, and the distance felt impossible.
But love has a beautiful way of finding its way home.
Over the years, we’ve chased our dreams, traveled the world together, and somehow always found our way back to one another—even when more than a thousand miles separated us. We’ve celebrated life’s greatest joys, carried each other through grief, grown through every challenge, and discovered that every season has only made our love stronger.
Every adventure, every goodbye, every reunion, every ordinary day has led us here—to this moment, surrounded by the people we love most, promising forever.
In this life, and in every life after, I will always choose you.
